Join me as we dive into the beautiful world of hand painted collage papers
Over the course of the day you'll learn how to create your own unique papers, then use them to build a striking mini series of compositions.
This workshop focuses on the exciting process of material making and mindful composition.
* Suitable for complete beginners and experienced artists looking to integrate mixed media into their existing practice.
What You'll Learn:
- How to use a limited colour palette to create harmonious pieces of artwork
- Experiment with interesting ways to create exciting marks and patterns
- How to print with fresh foliage & create organic decorative elements
- How to find balance & movement in your composition
- Various ways to bring depth to your finished pieces
What You Need to Bring:
All art materials will be supplied but you're welcome to bring any of your favourite art materials along.
We'll be using acrylic, ink, posca pens & coloured pencils.
There will be a selection of different papers for you to use, but please bring any papers you have lying around, eg wrapping paper, old book pages or envelopes.
Please come prepared with an apron or clothes you don't mind getting messy.
Where You'll Spend the Day:
The Red Store at Lerryn is a beautiful old stone warehouse that sits right on the water’s edge, looking out over a scenery that feels completely untouched by time.
At high tide, the river is full, with boats drifting up from Fowey to moor directly at the quay right beside the Red Store.
The room itself is spacious & each participant will have plenty of room to spread out.
Lunch & Refreshments:
For lunch, you can either bring a picnic to enjoy by the river or Lerryn River Stores Cafe is a few metres away with lots of delicious lunch options.
Light refreshments are included in the workshop.
