The final and most transformative piece of our three-part series.
If you’ve ever looked at a canvas and felt paralyzed by where to start, or if you’ve finished a piece only to feel like it’s "missing something" you can’t quite name, this workshop is designed for you.
We'll dive into the principles of composition and design. Rather than focussing on rigid rules, you'll learn principles to make strong art that feels sophisticated.
How You’ll Benefit:

End the "Guessing Game": Learn how to use value & balance to guide the viewer’s eye exactly where you want it to go.

Build with Intention: We’ll demystify concepts like the Rule of Thirds, negative space, and contrast so you can stop "hoping" a piece works and start knowing it does.

The "Is It Finished?" Test: Gain a practical checklist of design principles that will help you evaluate your own work with a kind, yet critical eye, giving you the confidence to know when it's finished.
What You Need to Bring:
All art materials will be supplied but you're welcome to bring any of your favourite art materials along. We'll mainly be using acrylic paint during the workshop.
Please come prepared with an apron or clothes you don't mind getting messy.
Where You'll Spend the Morning:
Our cosy lodge at Tawnamoor is an idyllic spot set in the heart of the Cornish countryside on the edge of Cardinham Woods. Surrounded by acres of open greenery and natural beauty this is the perfect spot to feel creatively inspired.
